DOUBLE JERRY & THE JEMET EXPRESS | A Day in the Life at Elev8150

At Elev8150, even the simplest plans have a way of turning into something bigger.

This one started as a routine pickup—just heading down the mountain to grab Trinity after a day of skiing with her instructor sister, Alayah.

But up here, there’s no such thing as “just a quick trip.”

Leaving the Mountain

The day begins like most do—firing up the Skidoo Expedition 900 ACE Turbo R and navigating out past the snowcat.

Even getting off the property takes focus.

And of course, Pongo—our Karelian Bear Dog—has other plans. Barking, chasing, fully convinced he’s coming along whether we agree or not.

That’s life out here. You don’t leave quietly.

The Commute Most People Don’t Have

There’s a moment, riding through the trees, where everything slows down.

No traffic. No noise. No distractions.

Just snow, mountains, and time to think.

This is what a “drive” looks like at Elev8150.

The Jemet Express

Then comes the part that always demands your full attention.

We call it the Jemet Express.

It’s a shortcut—but not the kind most people would take.

Steep sections. Exposure. No guardrails. No room for error.

Just commitment and experience.

It’s the kind of terrain that reminds you quickly—this isn’t a normal life.

A Different Perspective on Raising Kids

When Ben Fogle visited Elev8150 during New Lives in the Wild, he voiced a concern that a lot of people might share:

Are the kids missing out?

Socialization. Structure. Stability.

And to be fair… we probably didn’t explain it well enough in the moment.

But from our perspective, this life isn’t about what they’re missing.

It’s about what they’re gaining.

At the Bottom of the Mountain… There’s Always a Story

When we reached Trinity, she hit us with the classic line:

“It was good… mostly.”

That “mostly” tells you everything you need to know.

The Birth of a “Double Jerry”

From Alayah’s perspective behind the camera, the story unfolded quickly.

First incident: Trinity loses a ski getting on the chairlift.

Not even skiing yet—just getting on.

Award earned: Jerry of the Day.

But the day wasn’t done.

Later, feeling confident and charging toward the final lift…

She loses both skis getting on.

Final score: Double Jerry.

Alayah can’t stop laughing. Trinity can’t help but laugh with her.

And that’s the point.

What Actually Matters

There’s no meltdown. No quitting. No embarrassment that lingers.

Just recovery.

She gets back up. Keeps skiing. Finishes the day strong.

That’s the kind of confidence you can’t teach in a classroom.

It’s built through experience. Through failure. Through pushing limits and laughing when things don’t go your way.

The Ride Home

Heading back up Red Lion Road and climbing the Jemet Express again, the day settles in.

Two wipeouts. Two recoveries.

Still smiling.

Still moving forward.

This Life Isn’t Perfect—It’s Real

Life at Elev8150 isn’t polished.

It’s not predictable. It’s not easy.

But it’s real.

It’s built on moments like this—where challenges turn into stories, and mistakes turn into confidence.

And looking back on a day like this…

We can’t help but think—

Maybe now, Ben would see it differently too.

Would You Take the Jemet Express?

Or would you earn a Double Jerry like Trinity?

Either way… you’d have a story worth telling.
